IS THIS WHAT IT HAS COME TO? PART-II

I thought I'd watch question period to see for my self just how bad things have gotten.

I did not here the opposition question just asked, but the Prime Minister clearly ignored it, and in response commented that Stephen Harper is going to be on the "barbecue circuit this summer" and then porceeded to table a document for the opposition leader's benefit.

The document?

The South Beach Diet Book.

So sad.

Funny enough, Paul Wells also mentioned this bit of Question Period here. Sad times on Parliament Hill indeed.

Not to be the bitchy English graduate stundent or anything, but please, would a LITTLE spell-checking from time to time kill you? You didn't "here" the message? Furthermore, a few posts back, you note Microsoft's "compling" with Chinese law. I mean really, where are the standards here, people? I never had much faith in the internet as a bastion of elegant prose, but i never expected to find my ex-roommate falling prey to the rampant carelessness of this cultural vacuum.

Alan,

What are the standards?

It's the internet, obviously they're pretty low.

Given the following:
1. That I write this page for no compensation of any kind
2. That almost no one reads it
3. That's its almost instantaneous communication

I'm not going to bother spell checking or editing ever. I rarely even read these things over.

Just try to imagine you're reading one of your 18th century pamphlets.

Like spelling 'sloppy' two different ways, and 'thinking' with an extra 'n'?

Tell me you were being ironic.

I figure I have to chime in just to make it official that Coloniale still exists in some bizarre internet land. Not that I really have anything to say though other hi guys. Sorry Matt, our debate in Congress is just as bad, so I'm not surpised to be reading something like this.
